At the beginning of January 2021, the Polish Investment and Trade Agency (PAIH) prepared a report which shows that Poland took the third place in Europe as the preferred location for foreign investments according to fDi Markets data. It is also reported that the value of foreign investments in 2020 is 10 percent. higher compared to 2019.Last year, PAIH worked over 200 projects related to investments worth 40 billion PLN, which is 10 percent. higher, compared to 2019 – informs the portal bankier.pl. The PAIH report shows that the agency supported Polish exports, which during the pandemic offered companies the opportunity to open new foreign markets.
”In the first three quarters of 2020 year, over 300 greenfield projects were announced in our country; more than in Spain and France“, said the PAIH president, Grażyna Ciurzyńska. The largest value of investments came from South Korea and the United States. However, the largest number of projects was related to the industry of modern services and electromobility.
In times of pandemic, companies were looking for new ways to grow and operate. Monika Grzelak from the PAIH Investment Center said: “Several companies from the BSS sector decided to locate investments in Poland, even though the investors could not come to the country in person due to the pandemic. Everything happened remotely. ”
The largest number of talks with foreign investors took place in the last quarter of 2020 year.
